Melissa reveals her funniest travel blooper photo
Do picture-perfect travel selfies sometimes make you feel insecure? Don’t be! Even your favorite bloggers don’t feel confident all the time. And their ‘perfect’ photos often take time (not even talking about the editing part). So what if we stopped worrying about what we look like on a photo? What if we were able to laugh at ourselves a bit more?
In this series, travel bloggers share their funniest travel blooper photo. What’s the story behind their photo? Would they dare to post it on their social media? And do they think less photoshopped, and even unedited photos, can become a trend? Let’s find out which blooper Melissa shared with us!
1. Hi Melissa! Tell us a little bit more about yourself?
My name is Melissa and I’m a 19-year-old girl that lives in Rotterdam (The Netherlands). I have a big passion for traveling! I spend much time abroad together with my boyfriend. I love to explore the world and meet new people!
2. Can you tell us more about your travel blooper photo?
You get a lot of flowers as a welcome gift whenever you go to Bali. So I decided to put one of the flowers in my hair on the day we visited the Mason Elephant Park in the center of Ubud. They are my favorite animals and I had the honor to meet them at them. It was a dream come true!
After I fed the elephants, the staff asked me if I wanted to take a photo with an elephant. Of course, I wanted a picture! The elephant loved the flowers in my hair so much that he picked it up with his snout and ate it. Oops, haha!
YES! I would dare to post it! I think this picture is very funny, so why not?
4. Do you ever feel any pressure to only post “perfect” photos online?
A little bit…Social media changed a lot in the past years. Everyone seems to post the most beautiful pictures of themselves. I see quite some accounts that use Photoshop to make their photos look absolutely perfect. I feel a little bit of pressure because I want my pictures to look as good as everyone else’s.
5. Do you think less photoshopped, and even unedited photos, can become a trend?
Yes, I do think so! A lot of models are doing it already! A trend is a big word for it, but I do think using Photoshop will slow down in the future.
6. What’s your best tip for someone who feels insecure about their online presence?
Don’t try to compare yourself too much to what everyone else is doing when you feel insecure. Just keep posting what YOU like!
